BEST organises the KAIHAN INTERNATIONAL CUP – BARCELONA 2025

Over the weekend of December 6th and 7th, BEST organised a new international grassroots football tournament, this time for the Under-12 category: the Kaihan International Cup – Barcelona 2025.

The tournament was sponsored by the Japanese company Kaihan, promoter of the event and a key part in building a competition with a strong international presence. On this occasion, two teams travelled from Japan to compete against some of the best youth football teams in Catalonia: Sea Sail United FC and FC Trianello Machida.

Beyond the competition itself, both Japanese clubs enjoyed a full one-week experience in Barcelona, also organised by BEST. During their stay, players and coaching staff had the opportunity to explore the city, train at top-level facilities, take part in a training session alongside the BEST technical staff, and play two friendly matches as preparation for the tournament, enjoying a complete sporting and cultural immersion.

The Kaihan International Cup – Barcelona 2025 took place at the Camp Municipal Les Grases, home of Santfeliuenc FC, coinciding with a very special year for the club from the Baix Llobregat, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary. A perfect setting to host an event of this calibre.

The tournament brought together several top-level local youth teams, including FC Barcelona, Girona FC, FC Andorra, UE Cornellà, Santfeliuenc FC, UFB Jabac Terrassa, FF Badalona, UE Sant Andreu, Cerdanyola FC, AE Prat, Atlètic Sant Just, CE Vila Olímpica and CF Mollet UE, creating a highly competitive and attractive line-up for families and football fans.

After a great weekend of football and a strong performance in the latter stages of the competition, FC Barcelona were crowned champions after defeating FC Andorra in the final, lifting the trophy of this edition.

The Kaihan International Cup once again showed how grassroots football can bring together different cultures, styles and ways of understanding the game. Two days of camaraderie, learning and competition that allowed players, families and coaching staffs to enjoy a true football celebration in Barcelona, further reinforcing BEST’s commitment to delivering high-level international football experiences.
